Love this Stroller!, January 6, 2011

This is such a great product!! It is so easy to push and manuever around corners. I think that is my favorite feature! I am not struggling to push it one handed and I don’t run into things at the store. I have only had this product for a month but I have had it outside and indoors. I was a little concerned bringing it outdoors with the traces of ice on the pavement but I wound up locking the front wheels so it was a little more rigid and it really did the trick. It is a smooth ride and my little girl loves it! I like how easy it reclines too with its bungie-cord design. Lots of storage and the fabric is durable. I highly recommend this!

    I wanted to love this stroller . . ., July 12, 2011

This review is from: Kiddy Sport N Move Stroller, Dark Grey/Black (Baby Product)

In the interest of full disclosure I did NOT put my child in this stroller and I did not take it out for a spin. I returned this stroller to Amazon after taking it out of the box, putting it together and not being pleased with what I found. I just wanted to offer a more detailed review as the three here are all short and super positive. (It’s actually difficult to find ANY reviews on this stroller. However, KidsWoot has had this stroller as a daily deal a couple of times and the discussions about the stroller include some people’s experiences.)

The instructions about how to put together and operate this stroller were bare bones at best. I know this is a German company, so maybe something was lost in translation? Once we got the stroller put together, I started looking at every thing. The stroller had looked very nice in the picture, but the materials actually looked kind of cheap (for a stroller that retails for $300-350) up close, especially the plastic and metal. The fabric was similar to backpack material, but again, it seemed cheap. The stroller still seemed sturdy, but it’s difficult to have faith in the sturdiness of something that looks cheap. The seat did not appear very comfy at all, a minimal amount of padding over two boards. The seat does recline (not to a laying down position) but the mechanism requires both hands and is the sort of plastic ratchet buckle that I’ve seen fail with age before. Everything was adjustable, but requires both hands. The stroller folds relatively easily but folding it forces the foot rest up and out and it seems like it could get damaged when you store it. As an FYI this is NOT a lightweight stroller. Maybe it’s lighter than a standard travel system stroller, but 24 lbs. is not light. The handle adjusts in that you can click it up and down, but it doesn’t telescope out. I actually found myself wishing it was a smidge shorter (I’m 5’4″), but for taller individuals that’s probably a plus.

Everything in the previous paragraph I could overlook, but two things really got to me. 1) the parking brake only worked on one rear wheel. My husband took the stroller apart, put it back together, did EVERYTHING trying to get the parking brake to work on the left wheel and eventually decided that it was missing a piece. I did not, however, call the company about this defect so I cannot comment on customer service or replacements. I can tell you that in the earlier KidsWoot discussion, several other people had a similar problem. (I wish Amazon would let us post URLs to other sites, but oh well.) This really bothered me. Of ALL the things on this stroller to have a defect, the parking brake? 2) the latch that is supposed to keep the stroller together after you’ve folded it is crap. It’s red, plastic and doesn’t snap or lock into place at ALL. When I was trying to make sure I knew how to fold and unfold and carry the stroller, it kept coming unfolded when I would pick it up. The latch might as well be a decoration. Again, other people have mentioned this in the Woot discussions. These two issues combined with the minor issues mentioned above made me decide that I just wanted to return this stroller and choose another.

As I said initially, I did NOT take this stroller out so I can’t say how well it handles. This is also the reason for my three stars; I’m giving this stroller the benefit of the doubt as far as handling and tires and such. The wheels did seem very nice and sturdy. The stroller certainly looked like it could go over some bumpier terrain. I pushed it around the living room a bit and didn’t have any trouble. I haven’t come across any complaints about the handling. It does come with a detachable bumper bar (that you can snap a leg separator to, but if you don’t have the bar the separator just hangs down as it is not detachable from the stroller itself) and you can remove the cheap-looking cover, meaning you can WASH it. The cargo basket is spacious and the canopy was pretty nice. The canopy is adjustable and locks into place. It has a view window on top (that velcroes) AND side view windows with flaps that you can lift up and attach to toggles. I really did like the canopy; it was possibly my favorite thing about the stroller.

Overall I would not recommend this to a friend. I really don’t think it lived up to its price (even the Amazon price) and while it does have a few good points, they definitely weren’t enough to convince me to call up the company and try to work through the parking brake issue.
